City Market Window and Door Restoration
Architect Name: Susan Richards Johnson
Architecture Firm: Susan Richards Johnson & Associates, Inc.
Before the initiation of its restoration this historic property had only a few original wood windows intact, several showing signs of severe deterioration, and some covered with plywood. The entry door was completely missing and the original ornamentation of the doorway itself had been demolished and reduced in width with non-original brick infill. The structure was suffering from moisture infiltration with the historic ornate plaster ceilings crumbled from exposure and neglect. The new Marvin windows and entry door bring balance and a natural rhythm to the building’s façade, while helping to improve the indoor thermal comfort and arrest the deterioration of the historic interior.
