Press Release
Marvin Welcomes New General Counsel
Meghan Elliott succeeds retiring long-tenured Marvin general counsel Steve Tourek
Marvin has welcomed Meghan Elliott as the company’s new senior vice president and general counsel. In this role, Elliott will lead Marvin’s legal and risk department and serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on a wide range of legal, governance, compliance and business matters.
Elliott brings more than 20 years of legal experience to Marvin, most recently having served as executive vice president and chief legal officer at Apogee Enterprises. She also previously held the role of general counsel for Viracon, Apogee’s second-largest subsidiary, and began her career as a litigation partner at Minneapolis law firm Lindquist & Vennum (now Ballard Spahr).
“I’m delighted to join the Marvin team and I look forward to bringing my legal experience in architectural products manufacturing to a company with such a rich heritage and bright future,” said Elliott. “I’m also energized by the opportunity to work closely with Marvin senior leadership to uphold the organization’s values and long-term aspirations.”
Elliott’s hiring aligns with the upcoming retirement of long-time Marvin senior vice president and general counsel Steve Tourek, who will leave his role in March. Tourek joined the organization as the first general counsel in Marvin company history in 2003 and served as a key strategic partner to senior leadership throughout twenty-three years of significant expansion for the company.
Tourek’s retirement comes at the close of an exceptional 55-year career in the legal field. After graduating with multiple degrees in law from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Tourek was a founding partner at Minneapolis law firm Winthrop & Weinstine, P.A. His career was marked by a commitment to service, as Tourek shared his expertise as a member on several professional boards, including more than 20 years with the Window & Door Manufacturer’s Association and Unity Insurance, and roles as an adjunct professor, lecturer and mentor at the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
"I could not be more grateful to Steve for his decades of steadfast service to our organization and to his community," said Paul Marvin, CEO of Marvin. "While Steve leaves big shoes to fill, I'm incredibly confident Meghan’s experience and approach are a strong fit for Marvin's next chapter."
