Surviving in uncertain times, learning, improving, providing good jobs and a good place to work - these are the things that Marvin Windows and Doors strive for. In 2008, when the nation was hit with the worst economic recession since the great depression, the housing market dropped 60%; the response at Marvin was to pull together. There was belt-tightening but Marvin did not lay off people. Marvin survived and kept its talent. Today, the company is well-positioned with the talent needed to respond to increased customer orders.

Beginning production in 1981, Marvin Windows and Doors of Tennessee offers high quality, made to order wood and metal clad patio doors for both residential and commercial applications. From the original 40 Associates, the company has grown to around 500 Associates. Marvin Windows of Tennessee is proud to not have had an involuntary lay off of any regular, full time associate in its history.

Family Values set the pace at Marvin, with old fashioned values such as Trust, High Standards, Family, and Sharing. A Profit Sharing plan is in place, and in some years Marvin has shared over a million dollars with Associates. Supporting and strengthening the communities in which it does business is the bedrock of Marvin Values.

Ripley was the first Marvin location to implement 5S, a visual workplace, as the basis for ensuring a safe working environment, a quality product, and a cost effective manufacturing process. In addition to ISO 9001, the Ripley facility has been recognized with OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program of Safety Excellence “TOSHA STAR”; The Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence “Achievement Award”; The Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership “Performer” level certification; and the Wellness Councils of America “Gold” level recognition.

Marvin supplied most of the doors and windows in the City of Ripley’s revitalization project downtown, completed in 2011. The Court Square is a model for a small town’s renaissance. Active with Lauderdale County Relay for Life, Associates and the company have contributed over a quarter million dollars for the fight against cancer. Marvin sponsors a community Fun Walk and 5k, typically the last week of April at the City Park. Offering a health clinic on site to its Associates, the company continually promotes health and wellness, with a walking track on site as well. Providing scholarships to the UT Marvin-Ripley center, and supporting a number of educational institutions via advisory boards, school class tours, assistance with equipment, career day speakers, Marvin is invested in Lauderdale county and is thankful to be here.
