The goal of this project was to design and build a simple, energy-efficient, barn-style home with historic exterior details and a modern interior. The custom residence is located in the heart of a historic downtown area in Lewes, Delaware. The 2,200 square-foot home was built on a narrow lot that had to be mindful of the local Historical Preservation Committee’s guidelines per the city’s requirements. The exterior is dressed with board and batten siding and features natural landscaping details to give the home the feel of a prairie-style barn in a town setting. The interior showcases clean lines and an abundance of natural light from Integrity® Casement, Awning and Double Hung Windows. The windows are styled with SDLs and grille patterns to meet the historical district’s building requirements and rated to offer the owner superior energy efficiency.

Lou Manfredini is a nationally recognized do-it-yourself (DIY) expert. Manfredini is host of Ask Mr. Fix-It and Lou Manfredini’s Home Improvement Minutes radio shows. He also hosts his own nationally syndicated home improvement television show called HouseSmarts.
Since 2000, he has been the official home improvement contributor for NBC-TV’s “Today Show” and WGN TV in Chicago and a frequent guest on HGTV, CNN, Discovery and the History Channel. He has been featured and quoted in such periodicals as USA Weekend Magazine, People Magazine, Ladies Home Journal, Real Simple, the Chicago Tribune and the New York Times. In addition to his media engagements, Manfredini continues to run his own hardware store in Chicago, keeping him up-to-date on the homebuilding industry’s latest trends and technology. He lives in Chicago with his wife and four children.
Christine Marvin is the director of marketing for Marvin Windows and Doors and is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of the Marvin brand product, pricing, and marketing strategies. With an undergraduate degree from Macalester College and an MBA from the University of Denver, Christine is the fourth generation of Marvins to work for the family-owned and operated made-to-order window and door company. Christine also serves on the board of directors for the Marvin Companies.
Christine moved back to her hometown and company headquarters in Warroad, Minnesota with her husband and young sons. They are enjoying life on Lake of the Woods – especially during the summer!
Frank Anton is the vice chairman of Hanley Wood, the premier media, information, and marketing services company serving the residential and commercial design and construction industry. As an innovative thought leader, Anton focuses on creating ways Hanley Wood can better serve the residential and commercial design and construction industry.
Anton's tenure at Hanley Wood spans more than three decades. Prior to his role as vice chairman, he served as chief executive officer, and led a dynamic and strategic shift in how the company went to market with a network of magazines, websites, e-newsletters, trade shows and conferences, marketing solutions, and data services.
Prior to being named company CEO in 2005, Anton served as president when the company experienced unprecedented growth. He began his career at Hanley Wood as editor and publisher of BUILDER magazine, one of the company's flagship titles. His unmatched industry experience and stature make Anton a sought-after commentator on housing-related issues.
Anton is a member of the board of American Business Media and of the executive committee at the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University.
He graduated from Dartmouth College and holds a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
Shawn McCadden is a nationally-known speaker, business trainer, columnist and award-winning remodeler. As a Certified Remodeler, Certified Lead Carpenter, and RRP Certified Renovator Instructor McCadden has more than 30 years of personal experience in the remodeling and new home construction industries. He was the owner of his own multi-million-dollar design/build remodeling business, Custom Contracting, Inc., in Arlington, Massachusetts until he sold that business in May 2004; was the co-founder of the Residential Design/Build Institute, which trained best business practices to remodelers and contractors across the nation; and served as Director of Business Innovations for a nationally known kitchen and bath franchise.
Today, Shawn offers business consulting and coaching services for aspiring remodeling business owners who want more for and from their businesses and their lives. He also consults with construction-related product manufacturers and suppliers, helping them understand, find, educate and better serve remodelers. Shawn is one of the remodeling industry’s leading experts on the EPA RRP Rule and is a National Center for Healthy Housing Accredited EPA RRP Instructor as well as a Massachusetts Recognized RRP Instructor. As a professional speaker, he offers an impressive array of motivational, instructional and keynote presentations. Shawn is also available to facilitate meetings and focus groups for businesses and other entities.
Shawn has received many industry awards including the National Association of the Remodeling Industry’s (NARI) Harold Hammerman Sprit of Education Award, several NARI CotY Awards, Remodeling Magazine’s BIG50, QR Magazines Top 500, and several awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) for his magazine columns.
An active member of NARI for almost 20 years, McCadden has served as a NARI National Regional Vice President, a Massachusetts local NARI Board Representative and has been a long-time member of the NARI Certification Board. He writes an award winning monthly column for Remodeling Magazine and speaks at association meetings, industry trade shows and conventions throughout the year.
This program is open to licensed builders, remodelers, and architects.Entrants must be legal residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico and Guam), Canada (excluding Quebec), Great Britain, Japan, Israel, Gibraltar, Spain, or Australia,* and the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence as of the date of entry. The Integrity Red Diamond Achiever Award Program (the “Program”) begins April 4, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Central Time (GMT -5) and ends July 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Central Time (GMT -6). Employees or agents of Integrity Windows, Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising/promotional/PR agencies, and the members of their immediate families or those persons living in the same household of such individuals are ineligible to enter or win. All federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.
To enter, submit at least three, and no more than ten portfolio-quality photographs (at 8.5”x11” at 300 DPI or 1800 x 1440 pixels, approximately 15MB for a JPEG file or 50MB for an EPS file, in jpeg/jpg, pdf, or gif format) of a project of your original design, which incorporates Integrity windows and/or doors, together with a brief written description of the project, including a general description of the structure, the location of the structure, the year of construction or remodel, and the types of Integrity products incorporated into the structure. Also provide answers to the three judging questions listed below. Photographs in which non-Integrity windows or doors are depicted will be disqualified. Do not submit photographs depicting people. A minimum of five Integrity openings must be used in the project. Nominating dealers must be in good standing with the Sponsor. Entries will be judged by a panel of industry leaders.

Dealers may nominate eligible builder, remodeler, or architect customers for entry by submitting photographs and providing information regarding the depicted project as described above. Nominees will be contacted by Sponsor and may elect to confirm or decline entry into the Program.
All entries must be received before July 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Central Time (GMT -6). It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to notify the Sponsor in writing if the entrant changes his/her e-mail address or other contact information. A $50 gift card for will be awarded for submitting a QUALIFIED, eligible entry or nomination. You may enter or nominate an unlimited number of projects. All entries and nominations become the exclusive property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. By entering the Program and/or submitting the photograph(s), you convey to the Sponsor an unrestricted, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide right and license in and to all intellectual property rights over the photograph(s); Sponsor and its licensees may reproduce, crop or otherwise modify, display, and/or otherwise use the entrants’ photographs for any purpose, and in any medium, whether now known or hereafter created, without further compensation to you or anythird party.
By entering the Program, you declare that all information submitted is true, current, and complete and you represent and warrant to Sponsor that you are the builder, remodeler, or architect of the project depicted, that the design is your original work, that you are the copyright owner of, or have all rights and permissions necessary to submit the photograph(s), including without limitation the permission of the owner of the structure depicted, and that you have all rights and permissions necessary to convey the license and authorizations required by these Official Rules. By nominating a third party, you declare you are the copyright owner of, or have all rights and permissions necessary to submit the photograph(s), including without limitation the permission of the owner of the structure depicted, and that you have all rights and permissions necessary to convey the license and authorizations required by these Official Rules.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Sponsor and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, employees, and licensors from any claim, cost, demand, loss, or expense arising out of the photograph(s) or other content submitted by you in connection with the Program, your entry in the Program, or your violation of the Official Rules, the rights of any other person, or any applicable law.
Up to five (5) winners will be chosen from the entries submitted, subject to sufficient entries being submitted which are, in the judges’ independent opinions, of the requisite high quality. The winners’ project photographs will be displayed on the Sponsor’s web site. From the all entries, one winner will be selected for the “People’s Choice Award”, as described below.
The winners will be invited to a VIP trip to Minneapolis, Minnesota and Warroad, Minnesota on dates to be coordinated by Sponsor, and which are anticipated to occur in or around October 2016. Sponsor will provide roundtrip airplane tickets for each winner and a guest of their choice from a major metropolitan airport within the continental United States or Canada to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and will provide transportation from Minneapolis to Warroad, Minnesota. In Warroad, winners will be given a tour of the Marvin facilities and be treated to an awards ceremony conducted by a member of the Marvin family. Additionally, winners will receive a PR package including local market releases, 200 printed one page case study sell sheets, national releases to trades, website exposure, and additional social media exposure deemed appropriate by Integrity Marketing and Public Relations. US$200 will also be donated on behalf of each winner to a US charity of their choice.
The People’s Choice winner will be awarded an iPad Air.
No substitute prizes will be awarded, and prizes may not be redeemed for cash value or other consideration. The prize will not include personal insurances (i.e, healthcare insurance) nor any additional hotel expenses (such as, telephone, additional meals, mini-bar, or drinks) or any other expense which is not expressly included within the prize. Efforts will be made to coordinate winners’ schedules and accommodate their calendars, however if a winner is unable to travel on the dates specified by Sponsor, the winner will forfeit the affected portions of the prize. No substitute winner will be chosen. If the winner cancels or otherwise declines to take the trip, the prize will be forfeited and will not be awarded.
Entries will be judged based on photos and level of execution in the following qualities as determined by the Sponsor: creativity, market appeal, and why Integrity products were chosen for the project. All decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding. The winners will be notified by e-mail or postal mail by September of 2016. Winner will have 10 days from notification to accept the prize by e-mail to IntegrityRedDiamond@marvin.com or by postal mail to the address specified in the notification. The Sponsor is not responsible for, and shall not be liable for, any late, lost, or misdirected notification, or for a winner’s unsuccessful efforts to claim any prize.
After the juried winners have been selected by the judges, a People’s Choice Award will be given to the winner selected by the public via online voting. Individuals may vote once per day via www.facebook.com/IntegrityWindows or www.marvin.com/integrity/promotions/red-diamond-achiever for their preferred winner. The People’s Choice winner will be based solely on number of votes. Limit one vote per day per person during that time period. Sponsor may take such actions as it deems necessary, in its sole discretion, to correct voter misconduct or otherwise ensure accepted votes conform to these requirements.
All winners will be required to sign and return a release of liability, declaration of eligibility, and, where lawful, publicity consent agreement, all within 10 days of notification. Within the same time period, winners will also be required to execute a document confirming Sponsor’s license to use the winner’s photographs as described in these Rules.
By accepting and/or using the prize, the winner agrees to the use of his/her name, voice and/or likeness, and of the photographs submitted with the winner’s entry, for the purpose of advertising, trade, or promotion, in any medium now known or hereafter created, without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize, or fails to timely return the completed and executed declaration and releases as required, the prize may be forfeited.
By entering, each participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final. Sponsor, agents and representatives of Sponsor, its parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, PR and fulfillment agencies, and legal advisors are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (1) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, or postage-due entries or acceptances; (2) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind; (3) failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions; (4) any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the Program to be disrupted or corrupted; (5) any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising in connection with or as a result of the prizes, or acceptance, possession, or use of the prizes, or from participation in the Program; or (6) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Program. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend or cancel Program at any time if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of the Program.
Each entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Program, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and any judicial proceeding shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the federal or state courts within the State of Minnesota; (2) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Program, but in no event shall attorney’s fees be awarded; and (3) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Program, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, USA, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether the State of Minnesota or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Minnesota.
Privacy: Sponsor and its authorized agents will collect, use, and disclose the personal information you provide when you enter for the purposes of administering the Program and prize fulfillment.
