Sage Residence Hall Double Hung Windows
SAGE Hall, which stands for Students for Academic and Green Engagement, is a residence hall at Green Mountain College that was originally constructed in 1960. After years of housing students, it was decided in 2010 that a major renovation was necessary. While renovations were significant, 95% of existing interior and exterior walls were retained, reducing the environmental impact from new construction.
SAGE Hall’s renovation was held to strict environmental standards in an effort to meet LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards. LEED provides independent, third party certification recognizing projects that meet stringent standards of environmental and public health excellence.
The renovation consisted of ENERGY STAR® qualified Infinity Double Hung Windows, high-efficiency light fixtures, and individual heating controls amongst other improvements. These renovations allowed SAGE Hall to achieve LEED Gold Certification.
