Sacramento River Renovation
Architect: Cynthia Easton
Architect Firm: Cynthia Easton Architects
Location: Sacramento, CA
Project Type: Contemporary and Replace and Remodel
Originally, the existing house was to be completely demolished, and new construction was to start from scratch. But the firm and the homeowners were determined to be economical and sustainable. New construction created a challenge: to marry new additions with the old, but still structurally sturdy, bones of the existing house. Marvin's representatives were on site to resolve a particularly difficult code requirement due to the height above grade. The existing windows facing the river were plentiful, but out of code compliance. A beautiful Cobalt Blue was selected to emulate the river. In the end, the old and the new blended together cohesively.
