Rustic Barn Office
Architect: Peter Paulos and Phil Hubbard
Architect Firm: PH Architects
Location: Newtown, CT
Project Type: New Construction
This rustic storage barn and office was the first building constructed on a 30-acre equestrian facility in Newtown, Connecticut. Since it was the first building constructed, the design will set the precedent for additional buildings that will be constructed in the future. The owners’ goal for the design was to establish a harmony across the property that reflects a classic New England town. By incorporating traditional and casual flare, the building maintains picturesque New England details while introducing a sleek and comfortable interior space that is technologically sophisticated. Marvin windows helped to achieve this open indoor atmosphere along with the traditional New England feel on the exterior. Balanced light proportions made for a thoughtfully illuminated office space, and semi-divided windows increased energy efficiency throughout the building.
