Burlington Commercial Complex
SITUATION OVERVIEW
One of the key factors that inspired the design of this 28-unit housing complex was the unique shape of the lot. The 4,500 square foot site sits on an irregular trapezoid shape with steep, 10-foot slopes, which presented a significant design and construction challenge. One of the zoning criteria for the first floor street front was that the design had to “feel” commercial. While storefront aluminum would have been an easy selection, aluminum windows would not offer the option of a warm interior finish that Integrity® windows could provide.
INTEGRITY SOLUTION
Having used Integrity windows for years, specifying Integrity All Ultrex® Casement, Awning and Double Hung Windows and Integrity Wood- Ultrex® Double Hung Windows was an easy decision to make for architect Bob Duncan of Duncan Wisniewski Architecture. The windows met the project’s demanding performance requirements and the immediate availability of a variety of shapes and sizes fit within the building’s unique dimensional requirements. According to Duncan, no other manufacturer was able to provide these advantages — along with a reliable staged delivery schedule—at anywhere near the same price.
INTEGRITY ALL ULTREX AND WOOD-ULTREX WINDOWS ARE BUILT TOUGHER, LAST LONGER AND PROTECT BETTER.
• The availability of Integrity windows and staged deliveries mean windows and doors can be ordered as needed to eliminate on-site storage costs and prevent potential on-site damage costs.
• From easy installation to trouble-free maintenance – with virtually no call backs - Ultrex saves on labor costs and establishes a secure, long-lasting fit that stays square and true.
• Unmatched aesthetics, quality and reliability. Tough, dependable, non-corrosive and low maintenance Ultrex construction makes Integrity windows the best value for performance and sustainability.
• Ultrex has very low thermal expansion rates: It expands and contracts 87% less than vinyl and 75% less than vinyl/wood composites, which means our windows and doors stay tight and true even after extreme temperature swings.
