Whats New Can Be Old

The Abbott Dining Hall was a 1960s addition to a dormitory at the Lawrenceville School, a historic and renowned boarding school located in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. The modernist brick-and-glass design of that addition never quite fit with the rest of the school's Romanesque Revival structures, so an ambitious project was kicked off to retrofit and update the dining hall. The biggest challenge with these types of projects is to preserve history while incorporating contemporary solutions.
