Retreat on a Pond's Edge

Residential Design shared a project that any nature lover would seriously envy. Tucked away in a wooded area of Dedham, ME, Retreat on Pond's Edge lives up to its name. A winding path from the main road leads visitors to the home. Once parked, they traverse a maze-like boardwalk between trees and over boulders, until they reach a bridge leading up to the house. It's common for sites like this one to be leveled before a new structure is built. However, the homeowners loved the area and wanted to keep it intact.

The experiential nature of this home was at the forefront of the design. Marvin Signature Ultimate entry doors allow a seamless connection to the outdoors.
