Southern Living's 2020 Idea House is a mountain house tucked away in a wooded area about 15 minutes from Asheville, NC. Inspiration for the home's design came from the views outside. For example, specific shades of green and the texture of wood throughout the interior were chosen to emphasize the home's surroundings. In the dining room, the views are maximized by wraparound Marvin Ultimate Casement windows - making the room feel like a glassed-in porch.
“Great Southern homes have a connection between indoors and out," said architect Kate Campbell. The Marvin windows in this home help make the connection seamless.
