Marvin Named Educator of the Year by the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association (WMIA)

Marvin was named the 2022 “Educator of the Year” by WMIA, which acknowledges organizations with a structured curriculum tailored to training individuals for careers in the woodworking industry. Marvin is recognized as being an advocate for the industry through its new Advanced Resource Center for Innovation and Education (ARC Center).

In partnership with Northland Community and Technical College, Marvin opened the ARC Center in Warroad, Minn. in January, a facility which houses an accredited first-of-its-kind mechatronics program that follows a Competency-Based Education (CBE) model which caters to all learners, regardless of different education goals. The ARC Center also provides a Certified Production Technologist program for students in Warroad High School.

Students can complete competency demonstrations with an instructor to gain credit for prior learning and are able to earn up to a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree or any number of certificates within the 60-credit program. Courses are also available on a stand-alone basis to help students master a specific new skill or take their personal interests to the next level.

The ARC Center is open to applicants on a rolling basis throughout the calendar year. More information can be found at northlandcollege.edu.
