Fine Homebuilding's choice for Best Remodel in the 2020 Houses Design Awards is a restored farmhouse in Western Massachusetts. Architect Nicole Migeon and builder Chris Seaver spent three years on construction, careful to retain the home's 18th-century charm while creating a more livable and beautiful space. While the original floor plan did not change, Migeon and Seaver demolished and replaced a poorly-built addition. The windows needed help, too. "All of the windows were damaged and replaced with historical replicas by Marvin—the new wood-divided lites match the size and scale of the orginals," Migeon wrote.
