A Tilt Sash Lock is used on units with no performance brackets or bottom sash limiters. This accounts for most CUDH-NG unit sizes. The Tilt Sash unlocks at 135 degrees (approximately ¾ turn). At that point, the button at the center of the lock rises. After raising the bottom sash slightly (minimum of 1”), push the button and rotate the lock to 180 degrees, it will allow the unit to tilt for wash mode or to remove the sash.

A Non-Tilt Sash Lock is used on larger units that require performance bracket and/or bottom sash limiters. The Non-Tilt Sash Lock unlocks at 135 degrees, but the button does not rise. The lock will not be able to rotate to 180 degrees so it will not tilt.
