What are the electrical requirements for Awaken?

The lighting, projection, and shade operation on Awaken units are powered by 120VAC, and the installation procedures are subject to local electrical code requirements.
Do I need an electrician to install and replace an Awaken Skylight?

Yes. In order to install an Awaken skylight you’ll need an electrician to wire 120V AC power to the unit. This will be converted to 24V DC within the unit which is low voltage so all components within the unit can be replaced without an electrician in most states. Just note that some states require low voltage certification for replacement of low voltage components.
Do I have to use the Marvin Home app?

You don’t need to use the Marvin Home app; however, you will be missing out if you don’t! You can control your Awaken skylight by using the physical control switch which will allow you to: open/close the skylight, control LED brightness, and open/close the shades. The app will provide you with more fine-tuning control, such as LED color temperature adjustment, access to preset Modes and ability to automate your skylight to fit your daily schedule.
How do I add users to my Home?

You’ll be able to add users to your Home during the app set-up. Once you are logged in, you’ll also be able to do that by tapping on the + Add button at the top of the home screen or by navigating to the Settings > Household section.

Go to Settings>Edit Household in order to add or remove users from your Home. Only admins can access or edit other household members and there can only be 1 admin per home. If preferred, as an admin you can also transfer ownership of a home to another user.
How do I set up my Marvin Home App?

Once you have downloaded the Marvin Home app to your phone, sign up and follow the simple on-boarding instructions. You’ll be able to add a new skylight and complete all necessary setup: rename it, connect it to Wi-Fi, verify its association with your wall switch and add it to a room. Watch quick video here.
Is Marvin Home compatible with other 3rd party smart systems?

Yes. It’s compatible with some of the main 3rd party home automation smart systems: Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings.
What devices is the Marvin Home app compatible with?

The app is available for iOS on the Apple App Store and for Android on Google Play
What type of Wi-Fi network is required?

You need a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi router with WEP, WPA or WPA2-Personal network security settings.
Where do I download the Marvin Home App?

The Marvin Home App is available for download in Google Play (Android devices) and the App Store (iOS devices).
