Architect's Challenge winner profile: Casey Key Bay House by Jerry Sparkman

exterior 14

Wow. We can’t get enough of this Florida Gulf Coast home, a winner in the 2013 Marvin Architect’s Challenge. Designed by Sarasota, Fla., architect Jerry Sparkman, the home was intended to evoke a sense of being nestled in the trees that surround it. It’s an amazing piece of work that we’d love to spend a week enjoying. (Is there a spare key under the mat, Jerry?)

Marvin windows are the centerpiece of this design. As Architect’s Challenge judge Mark Scheuer said: “The artistic and sculptural effect of the structure and windows together is the key to this home.” And you can’t buy windows like that in a big-box store, that’s for sure.

Take a look at all 10 Architect’s Challenge winners and start dreaming.
