myMarvin Architect’s Challenge winner: Neoclassical Residence
Nov 15, 2012, at 9:00 am by Berit Griffin
Located in historic Princeton, New Jersey, this renovation and addition by Catherine M. Knight, AIA of Knight Architects, LLC pairs timeless elegance with classical structure, making the new additions appear as if they were always part of the original of the 1895 Neoclassical home.
This lovely project is another one of our 2012 myMarvin Architect’s Challenge. See more here.
The project included complete historic renovation of the home, as well as two additions. One, a sunroom flanking the right side of the home with two full baths above, and the other, a mudroom, pantry, powder room, and oversized kitchen flanking the left side with a master bath above. A new, detached 3-car garage was also added. The beauty and grace in which the design of the new additions were integrated with the renovation of the existing home make the new structures blend seamlessly with the original Neoclassical home.
