"Driving Miss Daisy" Georgian-style house in Atlanta for sale
Feb 25, 2013 by John Kirchner
Built in 1922, the home featured in the 1989 film “Driving Miss Daisy” had the difficult task of serving as a great-looking movie set that spanned a range of about three decades. The 6,100-square-foot home in Atlanta, with 6 bedrooms and 5.5 baths, is now on the market — and it can be yours for a cool $2 million.
According to Realty Today:
The home was made in the 1920s and still struts is elegant architectural design within. An arched entryway greets visitors at the footstep and you can’t stop staring at the magnificent, vintage chandeliers above. Woodwork and colors of the 1920s are accented at every corner.
The listing says:
All the charm of the old, but with updated and remodeled kitchen and baths! … Large lot perfect for playground and garden. The woodwork in this home is just beautiful. All rooms are large, with the dining room and living room being especially large. Kitchen has beautiful marble countertops.
Hooked On Houses has a great collection of photos both from the film and from the real estate listing, which shows how the home has changed over the years and, more important, how it’s stayed the same.
