We always watch trend reports with interest. They used to be the work of a few influential designers or editors, putting their heads together and issuing an edict. Now, though, many trend reports are crowdsourced — like the latest from K+BB.
The publication has named its top kitchen trends of 2014 — and they’re based on the most popular kitchen photos on Zillow Digs, where homeowners can browse more than 130,000 pictures of interiors and exteriors.
This year’s top trends include black countertops and glass-fronted or open cabinets. Both characteristics are on display in this northern Minnesota lake home, designed by Minneapolis architect Todd Hansen, which was a winner in the Marvin Architect’s Challenge.
