Who here enjoys reading their horoscope in the morning paper? It can be a little silly, but it’s fun to think about how when you’re born might affect your personality. Since I’m born under the sign of the bull (Taurus), I’m supposed to be quite stubborn and a lover of luxurious things.
The Chinese zodiac is another interesting astrological idea. The year you were born corresponds to an animal, which can supposedly influence parts of your personality. Now, when people use astrology, they usually use it to ponder big questions like love compatibility, a new career or just to see if today is going to be a good day. But what about … furniture?
Yes, furniture. IKEA Singapore has a neat feature on its Facebook page that uses the Chinese zodiac to help you out with your furniture shopping needs. For instance, I was born in the Year of the Dog, so have:
“…been living the dog’s life taking it easy, telling yourself you’ll clean up the house tomorrow. However, tomorrow is here. Sleeping dogs can lie no more because clutter is piling up like dog’s breakfast. Start spring cleaning for the New Year. Now. Accept no more excuses from yourself about being dog tired. It’s time you made your bite stronger than your bark. Bow-wow!”
To do this, there are some IKEA products that could help me out, like a shelving unit (I actually do really need this), various sofas, bedding and beer glasses (maybe for after I’m done clearing the clutter)?
You can see this for any of the signs. Just head over to IKEA Singapore’s Facebook page. And maybe, if you like what they’re suggesting, head over to your local IKEA and leave the furniture buying to the cosmos.
