A hammock on the stairs

Do you have some wasted space in a staircase? Here’s an idea (from Dezeen) for that expanse of air: put a hammock in it! OODA Architects did that in a house and now there’s a “lofted” space by a window for reading, sunning and relaxing.

Interesting idea, but we have to wonder how practical it is. Do you just dive off the side of the stairs into the hammock? What happens if you fall asleep and roll to the edge? Are there any safeguards?

Regardless, it is a creative idea to make use of space that would otherwise sit vacant. What do you think?
