A 160-Year-Old Home Gets A Makeover, Part II

“We had no idea of the impact.”

That’s what the owner of this 160-year-old residence in Mt. Pleasant, S.C., said after new Marvin windows and doors transformed her historic home. The home’s English (walk-out) basement was dark, drafty and damp. Family members shied away from spending time there — even though it opened out onto a wonderful English garden. Watch the progress unfold in this video, and for more on the project, see Part I.

We’re working with Traditional Home magazine to tell the story of this project. It’s one of several you can find on our Marvin Storybuilders site. Partnering with leading media outlets like Dwell, Southern Living and This Old House, we’re bringing you beautifully presented stories of homeowners like you who made their homes into a reflection of their personal style and desires.

For Marvin, “Built around you” is more than a slogan — it’s a promise.
