2012 myMarvin Architect's Challenge winner: Utah Street Residence

The architectural addition (designed by Jon Hensley and Sunny Carroll of Jon Hensley Architects) dramatically changed this Arlington, Va. residence by adding a contemporary light-filled expansive kitchen and entertaining space. And it became one of the 2012 winners of our myMarvin Architect’s Challenge. (By the way, we’re now accepting submissions for the 2013 Architect’s Challenge!)

The existing kitchen and dining room were combined into a larger dining area, open to the addition containing the new kitchen. The kitchen, with its clean and simple notes, becomes fused with the nature, inviting the vibrant colors in the landscape inside the home.

Marvin windows wrap the kitchen’s 11-foot ceiling, providing an abundance of natural light and stunning views of the landscape. Products used include the Ultimate Awning Window and Sliding Patio Door.
