1960s kitchen remodel uses Marvin windows and doors to spark new life

So, you think you have difficulty making design decisions? Imagine being an actual designer planning a project for your own home.

Such was the obstacle for Brandi Hagen of Eminent Interior Design, whose 1960s-style kitchen painfully featured outdated design aspects that had long fallen out of favor. The lighting was poor. Flooring and countertops were cheaply fabricated and falling apart. Hers looked nothing like the kitchen of an upscale interior designer.

That’s no longer the case. Hagen’s kitchen makeover was recently featured on TrendsIdeas.com. Part of her renovation — as seen in the pictures in this blog post — included the addition of windows and doors from Marvin:

“Hagen introduced more light with a much larger window in the living room, and the size of the kitchen window was doubled. The interior was then gutted, and the oak floors were stripped of their dark stain. The floors were wire brushed and treated with a white glaze to lighten the overall look of the kitchen.”

Isn’t it amazing what just a few of the right touches can do to add life to your home?
