Bringing historic Key West into the 21st century

This oceanfront community, a former Naval base where Harry Truman had his “Little White House,” includes new and renovated structures and hundreds of homes and condominiums.

The project features Conch-style architecture, a combination of New England and Bahamian design that blends with the historical character of Key West. Marvin was chosen for its ability to produce pitch-perfect windows on a large scale and deliver them factory primed or raw.

Project Highlights

  • Marvin produced thousands of distinctive wood windows, many with Authentic Divided Lites and high-tech glazing. Some units were delivered primed and ready for painting while other wood units were delivered bare for on-site staining and finishing.
  • To help satisfy the owner’s obligations to renovate the site’s historic Navy structures, Marvin supplied windows to fit perfectly into existing openings on original buildings.
  • The Truman Annex was recognized by the Department of State’s Division of Cultural Affairs as a highly effective collaboration between design professions.
