A mid-century, modern design was chosen for this home to offset the rural landscape outside of Walla Walla, Washington. The homeowners wanted to achieve a fitting juxtaposition between their house and the agriculture buildings resting in wheat fields nearby. Inside, there is a large living room, an open kitchen, and three master suites—all of which have incredible exposure to the outside. A root cellar rests in the basement, and an outdoor pool was built behind the house. Marvin windows allowed the home to embrace the outdoors, making any indoor-to-outdoor transition seem nonexistent. Exterior stonework blends it all together, leaving a home unlike anything around it.
