Brick House Roastery
Architect: Michael Petrovick
Firm: Catlin + Petrovick Architects, PC
Location: Keene, NH
Project Type: Retail
The Brick House Roastery was an adaptive reuse of an abandoned 19th-century building once used as a manager’s office for the adjacent mill. The goal of the design was to create an updated yet classic aesthetic, but with an open interior providing easy access for delivery and shipping of products. Scale of the original building was maintained while modern elements were introduced to areas in need of rehabilitation. The new design needed Marvin Ultimate windows and doors to meet a complex list of requirements, including state-of-the-art engineering and flexibility to enhance existing window openings, while expanding others to bring in more light. Bi-fold doors also allowed for easier product delivery outside of the building. The end result is a vibrant space that honors the original building character. It’s an ideal production and distribution facility for a small coffee roasting company.
