Blakehurst, a continuing care retirement community built in 1993 in Towson, MD, decided to replace 2,500 windows to improve both energy-efficiency and comfort. Well known for keeping residents top of mind in every decision, Blakehurst wanted a replacement window that delivered superior performance and that could be installed with minimal disruption to the residents’ personal space and privacy. They understood that the installation process was just as important as the actual window.
Two vinyl test windows and one Infinity fiberglass test window were installed. Residents quickly selected the Infinity window because of its senior-friendly features, such as the unobtrusive single-lock lever that simultaneously activates both locks, the easy-turn handle that turns effortlessly and folds neatly out of the way, and the easy-to-remove screens. In addition, Infinity delivered a superior pultruded fiberglass window made of Ultrex® that featured clean lines, strength, performance, and energy efficiency.
This project took just nine months and ran a near perfect on-time installation schedule. Both Blakehurst and its residents were thrilled with how Marvin® Window and Door Planning Centre managed the project and with the performance of its new Infinity Replacement Windows.
-Infinity Ultrex fiberglass replacement windows were selected to replace the deteriorated vinyl clad wood windows due to their strength and low maintenance characteristics.
-Blakehurst residents selected Infinity Replacement Windows because of their senior-friendly features and energy efficiency.
-With the help of Marvin Window and Door Planning Centre all details of the project were coordinated prior to window delivery and the project was completed on-time.
