Susan Marvin Frames the FutureBy Marvin Windows
This is a great interview with Susan Marvin, president of Marvin Windows and Doors, by the Minnesota Women’s Press. Susan sets a wonderful example for aspiring women in business — not because she’s female, but because she’s an outstanding executive and leader who focuses first and foremost on getting the job done.
Indeed, even speaking to a woman-oriented media outlet, Susan is reluctant to play the gender card. ”The only advice I would give women in a male-dominated field is … that I think we are best-served doing our jobs the best we can and focusing on that,” she said.
Susan also discusses how Marvin navigated through the Great Recession by focusing on quality, customers and community. The company didn’t lay off a single employee during the long downturn. You can read the entire interview at Minnesota Women’s Press.
