Summer is halfway over, but it's a perfect time to upgrade your outdoor spaces

Dog days of summer forcing you inside? Look at this way: This is the best time to spend your nights out on the patio or in the yard. There’s no need for blankets or a fire. And, really, today is July 18 so we should all enjoy the warmth while we can.
If your outdoor entertainment spaces could use an upgrade, here’s the good news: Summer is halfway over. That means most home improvement retailers have put their outdoor items on clearance.
So if you’re resigned to spending evenings indoors until this smoldering summer weather tapers off, here’s some ideas from CasaSugar to help your outdoor spaces make a second-half comeback — and possibly on the cheap!
- Create unexpected outdoor lounge areas – It could be simple as a hammock, but fun as a hanging outdoor daybed. Here’s a hint: Pick a space with ample evening shade.
- Create a living wall – Fences provide privacy, but why not opt for a sturdy wall of hedges or bamboo?
- Curate a great view from all angles – Keep sight lines green, clean and vibrant.
- Make it glow – Low lighting illuminating pathways and outlines will make an outdoor space more safe and functional, but also intimate
