Smart fridge for a smart kitchen

We’e living in the future, where we can use robots to vacuum our floors and beds even make themselves. But did you know that your refrigerator can be incredibly smart too? (This sounds like the beginning of a new game show: Are You Smarter Than A Refrigerator?)
LG’s Smart ThinQ line of home appliances has been around for a couple years. But until recently, we had no idea that it was so darned intelligent. According to CNet:
“The LG Smart Refrigerator isn’t just a big box that keeps things cold. It’s a “total food management system” that pretty much does everything except cook your steak for you.
“The brainy fridge has French doors and an LCD panel that gives you access to online shopping, a grocery list, calendars, and photos. You can scan your groceries into the system to track them as they get old and moldy.”
Hook it up to your phone and you will always be in the know about what’s going on in your fridge. That’s not sarcasm, by the way. Who hasn’t stood in a grocery aisle debating whether to buy a key ingredient that might or might not still be in your fridge?
There is one downside though: Has anyone heard about appliances being hacked? Just this month, it was announced that hackers had moved beyond ATMs, credit card scanners and computers to home appliances. The smarter your house is, the more vulnerabilities it can have.
Is it possible for your fridge to be TOO intelligent?
