Marvin's Ultimate Casement window certified by Passive House Institute U.S.

By Marvin Windows June 24, 2013

Marvin Windows and Doors is pleased to announce that it has received certification from the Passive House Institute U.S. (PHIUS) for its Ultimate Casement window — an important third-party confirmation that our products are beautiful and high-performance.

Now architects, builders and homeowners seeking a passive solution can turn to a trusted name for an American-made product. Marvin’s innovative passive window option combines the beauty of warm wood interiors with exceptional performance, all backed by a century-old heritage of quality and service.

“Windows are a key consideration in passive building design,” said Christine Marvin, director of marketing for Marvin Windows and Doors. “Because our products are made in the USA, Marvin can offer builders a shorter lead time than international manufacturers. And our extensive independent dealer network means we can support the project from the time it’s drawn up until after installation. This is another great example of Marvin working one-on-one with its customers to deliver the perfect windows for each project along with high-tech building solutions.”

Marvin’s Ultimate Casement offers a 10-year warranty on parts and workmanship and 20 years on glass. Marvin also achieves lead times of less than 8 weeks — unlike European providers that often specify much longer lead times. The Ultimate Casement comes in a virtually endless range of styles and sizes. With six wood species options and nine factory-applied interior stain and paint finishes, customers can create a window to fit any home. The Ultimate Casement offers 19 standard exterior clad colors with an industry leading AAMA 2605 finish as a standard and an extensive range of custom colors.

“With our long history of custom manufacturing and our skilled, experienced work force, we’re able to craft windows that will meet the highest standards of energy efficiency while allowing design freedom,” said Mike Laufman, senior manager of Marvin Signature Services, which offers one-on-one design and manufacturing support for custom projects.

Marvin Windows and Doors also offers a wide range of additional windows made in the USA that will meet both the strict European and U.S. standards for passive building. Certifications on those products are pending.
