Marvin Signature Brings New Life to Notre Dame

By Marvin Windows May 20, 2014

At the University of Notre Dame, tradition abounds. The magnificent campus contains dozens of architecturally significant buildings. And few are more important to the campus than Washington Hall and the Lafortune Student Center, dating from 1881 and 1883.

Updating older buildings for modern performance can be a delicate proposition. The needs of history and aesthetics must be balanced with the demands of efficiency and low maintenance. That’s why Notre Dame chose Marvin Signature Services to create and install 310 new windows in these historic buildings.

Marvin was selected because of our custom capabilities, attention to detail and experience replicating wood profiles using extruded aluminum cladding. We created one-of-a-kind windows combining several different styles into an integrated whole. We even created two new exterior colors for the project: Irish Tan and Irish Bronze.

No other window manufacturer has Marvin’s design and technical expertise in creating historically accurate reproduction windows. We breathe modern, efficient life into beautiful old buildings.
