Highlights From Day Two Of IBS 2014

The show floor was buzzing the second day of IBS as attendees previewed building and home trends.
Day two of IBS featured an informative press conference by the NAHB and Better Homes and Gardens. Jill Waage, executive editor at Better Homes and Gardens, discussed consumer trends in home and interior design, while the NAHB presented findings from its latest consumer study “What Home Buyers Really Want: Ethnic Preference.”
The new Contemporary Door Option for Ultimate Swinging French Doors was the topic of conversation at Marvin Windows and Doors booth (C5520). This stunning door gives architects, builders and homeowners the choice of having Marvin’s industry-leading Ultimate Swinging French Door with a bold new look.
Outside the Marvin booth, outdoor decks and elegant countertops were some of the more popular items.
Trex Company, the world’s largest manufacturer of wood-alternative decking and railing, showcased a variety of different products. Of those displayed, the Transcend series stood out most. This decking is made from 95 percent recycled board and is hassle free, requiring no sanding or staining to maintain its stunning look.
At the CeasarStone booth attendees were able to view the beautiful materials used in its Concetto line of countertops. This countertop collection features a series of handcrafted surfaces, which are individually cut and created from semi-precious stones.
