Design Your Own Fabric

See that beautiful bedding? It wasn’t designed by a professional — it was done through Fabric on Demand, a service that allows anyone to create their own fabric designs. Just another example of how technology has given us all the ability to create things we once had to get through professionals.
Spoonflower is another site that lets you create not only fabric, but wallpaper, gift wrap and decals, as well. What a great way to express your own personal design style!
There are a few things you might want to keep in mind before rushing out and ordering yards and yards of your creation. Repeatable patterns work well because they allow any length of fabric to be ordered. Patterns can become distorted when you’re printing on fabrics, like fleece, that don’t have a smooth, flat surface. So you might want to order a small sample and test it before placing a large order.
