A Temple of LightBy Marvin Windows
Many homes set in the woods have that back-to-nature, cabin-y feel. Not this home outside Bethesda, Md. Designed by architect David Jameson, the home presents four “glass temples” that the architect describes as “instruments of light, gathering natural light to the interior during the day and glowing in the landscape at night.”
The stark black-and-white exterior furthers distances this building from its surroundings, boldly staking a claim of human creation amidst nature. The design won Jameson a bevy of architecture awards. We’d say they were well-deserved.
