Caring for the earth and saving resources is at the heart of the products we make–and the way we make them.

Windows and doors that save energy

We offer three kinds of energy saving glass:

Low E II - For warm or cold climates. A double metallic coating on the inside glass reflects or absorbs the sun's warmth and reduces damaging UV rays.
LoE-366 Glass - For hot climates. This glass blocks heat from the sun, and has a lower Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) than Low E II.
High-R Tripane - For cold climates. Two layers of Low E glass and a clear center pane provides a lower U-factor–helping to keep and preserve heat inside

Windows and doors that last

Making quality products that last through many generations is another way we help save resources. What’s more, our windows and doors are easy to maintain and repair; they are also re-usable.

Recycling and reducing waste

To preserve resources we:

Power our plants with waste
Recycle wood by finger-jointing and edge gluing scraps to make usable pieces
Sell wood shaving for animal bedding
Recycle everything from cardboard to oil and tires

Healthy forests

To support sustainable forestry management all over the world we:

Work to preserve old growth and ancient rain forests.
Use pine where possible (never from rainforests).
Buy from suppliers who subscribe to the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) for good forest stewardship.
Sponsor and serve on the board of the Tropical Forest Foundation (TFF) (for sustainable tropical forest management).
Support forest management education programs.
Give out thousands of tree seedlings each year.
Support the WDMA Environmental Stewardship Statement of Beliefs.

LEED® Certification

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System provides standards for green building. Marvin products may contribute to credits for LEED Certification. Click here for more information on LEED certification.

ENERGY STAR

The ENERGY STAR label goes on products that save energy. Almost all Marvin products have the ENERGY STAR label, and meet or exceed ENERGY STAR guidelines.
