Bluewater Builders committed to quality in high-end coastal livingBy Berit Griffin
Bluewater Builders was founded in 1986 when established builders Sherrell Futral and Woody Warren brought their companies together to lead their first development, Bluewater Bay. Bluewater Bay was an overnight success, with all 85 lots selling out in a mere 3 hours.
The success launched the new company’s run as one of eastern North Carolina’s premier builders and led the company to expand its operations into real estate sales and rentals. The new full service development company, Bluewater GMAC, incorporates building and real estate services into its coastal communities that are a mix of vacation and year round residences.
“Integrity is a quality product and fulfills the demanding requirements of the coastal environment. Integrity’s high-quality products have been well received by our customers who have been most satisfied with the look, performance, workmanship and overall superiority of their Integrity windows and doors.” — Woody Warren, owner, Bluewater Builders
Bluewater Builders has been successful for several reasons. They are committed to their focus on high-end custom resort homes and diligent about providing unmatched construction quality and support services for their customers.
This commitment comes from the pride that owners Sherrell Futral and Woody Warren take in every home they have built since the 1970s. Their vast experience in coastal construction provides them the unique skill set to navigate increased requirements for permitting and items such as storm water control, septic systems and structural requirements that make coastal construction more technical.
Just ask Joe Barber, North Carolina Department of Insurance deputy commissioner, engineering division (retired). Joe regulated building codes for the state of North Carolina and has owned three Bluewater-built homes: “He’s probably the best builder I’ve ever worked with,” Joe says of Sherrell Futral. “He does not cut corners. The quality of the workmanship is unreal.”
