PVD stands for Physcial Vapor Deposition, a metal finishing process in which high performance metalic compounds are transformed from a solid to a vapor physical state in a high-tech PVD pressure chamber. This metalic vapor is then deposited over the brass base metal substrate, creating a finish more durable than lacquer based finishes. This finishing process is unsurpassed in resistance to tarnish and wear. PVD finishes are warranted against tarnishing, pitting, corrosion or discoloration for a period of ten years. This option is an excellent choice for residences along the coast, where environmental conditions may cause accelerated wear on standard finishes.
